The Traction Control System (TRC) makes driving in slippery conditions easier and safer. Sensors continuously monitor the rotational speed of each individual wheel. As soon as they detect that one or more wheels are starting to slip, the system instantaneously calculates the best way to restore traction. The engine's computer control unit then adjusts the throttle accordingly and the Brake Actuator directs the braking force to the most appropriate wheel (or wheels) until traction returns.
HOW TRC WORKS
Lexus Traction Control system is there to improve your car's stability when accelerating, by reducing wheel spin or any tendency to yaw (swing).
Speed sensors located on all four wheels register that one or more of the driving wheels has lost grip.
Instantaneously the Skid Control ECU calculates how much engine throttle should be reduced and if brakes are required.
The Brake Actuator distributes brake force and the Engine ECU reduces power until the driving wheels regain full traction.
